A bit about me…….

I am a hugely enthusiastic Artist, Designer and Gardener and balance my artistic vision and creativity with my practical and technical background in Civil and Structural Engineering. As well as qualifications in Garden Design and Horticulture, I embrace my passion for Art and Design. Whenever I get the chance I also love other creative activities such as watercolour painting, glass painting and silver jewellery design and creation. I just love spending time in nature, whether simply walking the dog or the occasional wild swim!

With my love of nature and my appreciation of environmental considerations, I am keen to produce design solutions which are sensitive and appropriate to the atmosphere and location of the site as well as of course the requirements of the Client. Each garden is therefore a truly unique and special space.

I have now been designing gardens for more than 18 years with a wide range of experience from simply revamping a tired border to designing large gardens of several acres. My Degree in Civil Engineering and more than 6 years working in this industry greatly enhances my Garden Design experience, particularly in relation to more challenging sites! I have been involved for several years with a local charity Watch us Grow which does great work helping adults with additional support needs or with mental health problems to develop new skills, confidence and self esteem through gardening and environmental projects in their garden in Palacerigg Country Park in Cumbernauld and in the wider community. I have also helped my local primary school, nursery, youth groups and other community gardening projects and I have previously been a member of my local Allotments Association for many years.

BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering 1st Class University of Strathclyde, MSGD, RHS Level 2 Certificate in Horticulture with Distinction, Diploma in Garden Design with Distinction
